Overview
Santo Domingo de Guzmán, is the capital and most populated city of the Dominican Republic and one of the oldest cities in the Caribbean. Has his walled and cobbled historic center, the Colonial Zone, you have buildings that date from the 16th century, including the cathedral that was the first built in the New World.
Santo Domingo has an approximate population of 3,000,000 million until 2010 and this was divided by municipality: Santo Domingo Este, National District, Santo Domingo Oeste, and Norte.
Visit the oldest city in the New World and the first permanent settlement of Christopher Columbus after his «discovery» of the Americas. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.
This incredible historic area boasts some of the oldest buildings in the New World. Top attractions include the Catedral Primada de América, the first cathedral in America, and the Alcazar de Colón, the former residence of Christopher Columbus’s son. Other attractions include the Dominican Convent, the first monastery in the Americas, and Ozama Fortress, the oldest fortress in the New World.
The Colonial Zone also has beautiful parks and squares. Parque Colón, in front of the cathedral, is the perfect place to take a break and people watch. Plaza de España is a huge square with some of the best restaurants in the area.

From this time onwards, visits will be made to the tourist sites that we will mention. Los Tres Ojos, Faro a Colon, Colonial Zone, Alcázar de Colon, National Pantheon or the Homeland , Calle de la Damas, Puerta del Conde, Parque Colon, Catedral Primada de América, typical Dominican restaurant, typical mall, Malecón street and Presidential or National Palace.
